SC/ST/OBC/Minority & Remedial Coaching Cell

 

INCEPTION

JAC Minority Cell was established in the academic year 2006-07 with the support of UGC for the betterment of SC, ST and minority students. Special coaching has been offered for them. Their attendance and test marks are regularly maintained by the cell. In the year 2009-2010, the minority cell started to give remedial coaching for the improvement in the marks of the minority students. In the year 2010-2011, the minority cell initiated NET/SET coaching classes for all the P.G. and U.G. to help minority students to face competitive exams confidently and thus enable them with employment opportunities in the public sector. From the academic year 2012-2013 the minority cell has regularly conducted two hours of NET/SET coaching classes, remedial coaching and TNPSC coaching classes, the time schedule of the classes being 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. In the academic year, 2018 the minority coaching wing was renamed by ‘JAC- Academy’.

VISION

             Empowerment of rural women to be the agents of social changes and liberation of women, with special reference to the poor, the marginalized and the destitute from all forms of shackles of life, through quality and value based education.

    MISSION

To improve the socio- economic conditions of the minority communities through affirmative action and inclusive development so that every citizen has equal opportunity to participate actively in building a dynamic nation, to facilitate an equitable share for minority communities in education.

  • NET/SET coaching classes are conducted to the P.G. students.
  • TNPSC coaching classes are conducted to the III U.G. students.
  • Remedial coaching for the slow learners
  • The cell functions with the noble intention to help the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and minorities in their academic pursuit and placements. Remedial coaching to the academically weak students, NET/SET Coaching for PG students, coaching for Entry into Service and Competitive Examinations, TNPSC/VAO are some of the activities of the cell conducted through UGC Programmes. Frequent tests are conducted to check time management, presence of mind and progress of students.
  • Minority cell – ‘JAC-NET/SET Academy’ regularly invites subject experts from outside and inside the campus to motivate the students and enrich their knowledge.
  • NET/SET Coaching

    Every week (2nd and 3rd  day order) coaching classes are conducted for PG students between

    3:00 p.m. -4:00 p.m. and   the students are evaluated once a month through tests based on the

    coaching.

          NET/SET coaching classes are conducted for the P.G. students in every 4th   and 6th day orders from   3p.m. – 4 p.m. and   the mock tests were conducted to evaluate the students’ performance once in a month based on the coaching.

  • TNPSC Coaching

   Every week (4th day order) coaching classes are conducted for final year students between  

   3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and the students are evaluated once a month through tests based on the  

   coaching.

TNPSC coaching was given to the final year UG student every week 4th day order from 3 p.m. – 4 p.m. and the performance of the students was evaluated once a month through tests based on the coaching. Totally 9 tests were conducted this academic year. The question papers were set by the staff-in-charge in a way that it prepares the students to face TNPSC exams confidently.

  • REMEDIAL Coaching

    Every week (2nd  and 4th day order) remedial classes are held for slow learners and minority  

    students between 3:00 p.m. –   4:00 p.m. Tests are periodically conducted to gauge the improvement      in their performance.

              Remedial classes were conducted twice in a week after 3 p.m. Every department has a committee to handle the classes. The faculty members also put their efforts to provide guidance and additional coaching to the SC / ST, Minority students and slow learners. Weekly written tests were periodically conducted to gauge the improvement in their performance and their subject knowledge. Remedial coaching classes were completed before the commencement of the semester examinations. The progresses of the students were evaluated on the basis of the written tests.

  • 2 Candidates have passed in TNPSC examination during the academic year 2010-2011.
  • Ranjana, II physics was selected for the post of Postal Assistant in Theni Division in the year 2010.
  • Ananthanayaki , III B.Sc Computer Science had been selected for the post of Postal Assistant in Dindigul  Division in the year 2010.
