Jayaraj Annapackiam College for Women (Autonomous), Periyakulam, re-accredited with ‘A+’ Grade at 3.46 CGPA in the Accreditation Cycle – 4 by the NAAC, renowned for its yeoman service in the field of Higher Education exclusively for women, established in 1971 as a Minority Christian Institution founded by the Sisters of St. Anne of Tiruchirapalli, a religious congregation, has a motto “Serve with Love” and has been affiliated to Mother Teresa Women’s University, Kodaikanal, since October, 2002.
Within a short span of nearly five decades, the College has become a locus of higher education in Theni Dtistrict as it has introduced programmes catering to the needs of students and now it offers 9 U.G. Aided Programmes, 11 U.G. Un-Aided Programmes, 3 P.G. Aided Programmes, 6 P.G. Un-Aided Programmes, 7 Ph.D. Programmes, 2 P.G. Diploma, 6 Diploma, 30 Skill Development Programme (Certificate Courses), and 2 Vocational Courses in JAC Community College under Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) through need-based, relevant, learner-centered, skill, job and value-oriented curriculum to enhance the research activities to impart quality-value based higher education on par with global standard.
The College is supported by DST-FIST from the academic year 2015-16. Since the time of its inception, striving tirelessly towards perfection in realizing the institution’s vision and mission under the banner of its motto, “Serve with Love,” the College has been significantly contributing to the mission of empowering marginalized, rural, and economically weaker young women through quality education.
Our College is proud to have been selected under the DBT Star College Funding Scheme – 2026, supported by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. This recognition strengthens the College’s commitment to enhancing undergraduate science education through hands-on laboratory learning, innovative teaching practices, scientific activities, skill development, and exposure to emerging areas of science and technology. The initiative will provide students with opportunities to develop research aptitude, creativity, and problem-solving skills while fostering scientific curiosity and innovation. Through this initiative, the College continues its mission of empowering young women through academic excellence, scientific advancement, and service-oriented education, enabling them to make meaningful contributions to society and the nation.
